The Bathroom

As is common with homes of this style, (when convinced that indoor plumbing was here to stay) previous owners appropriated a quarter of the main floor to be used as a bathroom/laundry room combo.

As you can see from the "old" drawing above, the bulk of the space was dedicated to laundry with the w/c located in a closet (really, bi-fold door and everything). As you can see from the "new" drawing it was decided that a wall be built across to divide the room (more or less) in half. The w/c now contains the toilet, sink, shower stall, and closet. The remaining space houses the laundry room and chest freezer.

Like a douche bag, I forgot to take before pictures. I only have the "in progress" and the "completed" photos below:

New Shower, Old Closet

New Closet, Laundry

In the laundry, Polly Anna installed cabinets above where the appliances had originally been placed. He removed the utility sink and rerouted the water to in-wall plumbing.

Note to self: Do not choose a shower with clear glass doors. Remember that when you remove panneling, trim will no longer line up unless you replace drywall with thicker product.

Our house is a very, very, very fine house

Our house is located in Random Lake, WI. It is a poorly renovated - but solid - American Four Square. This blog is intended for us to track our renovation progress and whatever else I feel like.
